Jonas Sevrell appointed new CEO of Nordic Nuclear Energy AB
Nordic Nuclear Energy (NNE) has recruited Jonas Sevrell as its new Chief Executive Officer. With nearly two decades of experience in the nuclear power industry, Jonas Sevrell brings a unique combination of technical and regulatory knowledge and strategic ability to take NNE into the next phase of the company's development.

Jonas Sevrell's deep understanding of nuclear power development, combined with his leadership experience, makes him the right person to lead Nordic Nuclear Energy into its next phase. Together with the team now being built around the project, he creates strong conditions for taking BWR-N forward towards licensing and commercialisation.
During his career, Jonas Sevrell has worked on safety analyses, the modernisation of nuclear power plants and the preparations for decommissioning Ringhals 1 and 2. His experience spans the entire nuclear power life cycle and covers technology, economics and regulatory processes.
As CEO of Risk Pilot, part of Rejlers, Jonas worked mainly on complex risk issues in major energy projects. His experience of what it takes to deliver large infrastructure projects is particularly valuable as Sweden and the Nordic region take steps towards new nuclear power. In June, NNE's sister company Nordic Baseload Power (NBP) submitted two applications to the Swedish Government, a permit application and a financing application, to enable two BWR-N reactors at Barsebäck.
BWR-N is an evolved version of the traditional Swedish and Finnish boiling water reactor (BWR), adapted for large-scale, fossil-free electricity production in Nordic conditions. The company already has a letter of intent with Kävlinge Municipality regarding new nuclear power at Barsebäck. Jonas Sevrell takes office with a clear agenda: to drive NNE and the BWR-N project forward in Sweden and the Nordic region, to strengthen the company's position as a key player in the nuclear power debate, and to underline the importance of stable baseload power for the long-term competitiveness of industry and society.
