Kävlinge selects NNE to investigate new nuclear power at Barsebäck

Nordic Nuclear Energy (NNE) and the Municipality of Kävlinge have today signed a joint letter of intent regarding cooperation to potentially establish a boiling water reactor in the area where the Barsebäck Nuclear Power Plant is currently being dismantled.

– We are looking at several sites but consider Barsebäck to be one of the most interesting, not least because energy demand is so high in electricity price area 4, says Göran Engberg, CEO NNE.

Press invitation from Kävlinge kommun: Letter of intent regarding Barsebäck

Kävlinge kommun has today issued a press invitation ahead of the signing of a Letter of Intent between the municipality and Nordic Nuclear Energy to jointly explore the possibilities for establishing new nuclear power in the Barsebäck area. Media are welcome to attend the signing, which will take place on Friday 23 January at 10:00 at the Kävlinge Municipal Hall.

After the signing, CEO Göran Engberg will be available for media interviews.

NNE and Rejlers enter into a strategic partnership for new Nordic nuclear power

Nordic Nuclear Energy (NNE) has selected Rejlers as a strategic partner for the development and commercialisation of new nuclear power in the Nordic region. The collaboration aims to jointly lay the foundation for the commercialisation and establishment of NNE’s boiling water reactor, BWR-N, as well as micro-modular nuclear technology (MMR), on the Nordic market.
